Breathe Easy - Home Trends

Cool, calm, collected: this Spring’s latest home trends are all about creating a sense of tranquility. With chairs that follow nature’s anamorphic patterns, and furniture that brings the tactility of wool, brass, stone and walnut to the fore, these designs promise to soothe, restore and inspire.

Pelican Chair

by Finn Juhl

First presented in Copenhagen in 1940, the Pelican Chair by Finn Juhl, re-discovered and revived in the early aughts, features upholstery hand-sewn onto the frame and graceful curves that wrap the sitter in its embrace, the perfect spot to curl up on a wintery afternoon. “A chair is not just a product of decorative art in a space,” the designer famously stated, “it is a form and a space in itself.”
