Major Tom by Maison Dada

Maison Dada first launched between Shanghai and Paris in 2016. This year the design house showed the Major Tom Seating collection by Thomas Dariel. Inspired by David Bowie’s Space Oddity video, in which Bowie sports a space-inspired outfit by Pierre Cardin, the collection likewise incorporates lunar shapes and curved silhouettes into its armchair, sofa and ottoman designs.

Inspired by the Greek Cyclades, Fermob’s new Itac collection includes two vases, one cylindrical, the other rectangular, and both featuring carved designs meant to evoke islands jutting out against the Aegean Sea. Cymbal Lamp by Forestier

French lighting brand Forestier showed lamps by German designer Jette Schieb, including the Parrot and Cymbal collections (pictured). The lamps combine the transparency of linen with the opacity velvet, creating a soft glow inspired by the warm, rich tones of marine life —corals, shells, sea urchins and jellyfish.
